The exhibition presents two artists, one of whom is seven decades older than the other, which does not mean a lack of proximity to the issues they both grappled with, despite the diversity of their experiences and the time they spent experiencing them.
The sculptors’ meeting aims to demonstrate that sculpture does not lose sight of its material, performative dimension and its location “between” matter and idea. To highlight these interdependencies, viewers’ attention was drawn to the installation — a work that dismantles the hierarchy of representations and constitutes the exhibition’s main axis. The traditional pedestal gives way to a shared space where the viewer and the object are placed on the same level.
